Guitar God, classic rocker, Eric Clapton has just closed a deal said to be in the multi millions (exact financial terms were not disclosed to the press), to pen his autobiography for publisher, Doubleday, to be released some time in 2007. Publishers have been throwing up to eight figure sums and then some for some time at Clapton to coheres the guitar hero to pen his life story.

The book, which will be co-authored by writer, Christopher Simon Sykes will be a true tell all, warts and all. Reportedly, the book will be a blunt and candid account of Clapton’s struggles with his inner demons, including his heroin and alcohol addiction, his myth making unrequited love for and affair with Patti Boyd Harrison (former wife of Clapton’s friend, and Beatle, the late George Harrison) which fueled Clapton’s legendary 2 disc album, ‘’Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs’’, and of course his pioneering creative history and artistry through the ranks of such bands as Cream, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, The Yardbirds, Blind Faith, and as a revered solo artist.

Clapton’s memoirs are due to be published simultaneously with the release of a mammoth boxed set highlighting Clapton’s 6 string wizardry and music career from Warner Brothers Records.
