‘’Buffy’’ And James Marsters Both Rock Halloween!’’

‘’Once More With Feeling’’, the sole and infamous musical episode of the runaway fan favorite television series, ‘’Buffy The Vampire Slayer’’, will have its own ‘’siring’’ resurrection, in the form of a live stage musical, showcased during the week leading up to and including Halloween.

The San Francisco Arts Group, CounterPulse is producing and staging the production which will include a live band accompanying the actors, all who will be recreating a live, song and dance theatrical play of the Emmy nominated episode which was originally broadcast on TV’s UPN Network in 2001. Hey it ain’t Sunnydale, but it IS California.

The ‘’Great White Way’’ (that’s showbiz talk for Broadway folks!), style production will have a ten performance run. The musical will have 2 shows per night extending from October 20, through October 23, 2005, then wrapping things up on Halloween Eve, of October 30. The show is selling out fast, with 3 shows filled to the ‘’fanged teeth’’!

For those needing a refresher course, ‘’Buffy’’ creator/Director Joss Whedon (now riding the successful crest of his feature motion picture, ‘’Serenity’’), not only wrote the one time musical episode script, but also composed all of the songs featured in the episode as well.

The episode featured Buffy and her legendary Scooby Gang of vampire slayer cohorts pulling a sort of Broadway infused dramatization, where for no damn good reason (but a lot of fun!), characters burst into song, out of nowhere, to reveal their innermost secrets, desires, both dark and light, (including if we remember correctly),…Spike professing his unrequited love for Buffy, (shocker!) but which he only revealed to the audience.

What we’re hoping for, and oh what a wish list it is…would be if Spike himself, the incredibly talented and classically trained actor…..James Marsters….who happens to be quite the real life rock musician, guitarist, singer/songwriter himself, from his days with his former band, Ghost Of The Robot, and who currently has his very own solo album, out, ‘’Civilized Man’’, and per James’s official website,
