Well bring out the cake and candles, throw the confetti and sing a congratulatory “Happy 100th Episode” to one of our favorite TV series, ever!

“TV Guide’s” January 23, 2006 issue has a 3 page spread devoted to this Thursday’s January 26, 2006 100th episode of the WB TV Network’s series, “Smallville”. An historic event, if ever we saw and knew of one!

According to the article on page 31, in the episode, we will experience and witness both a major romantic development between Clark and Lana, and we will also suffer the tragic death of one of “Smallville’s” major, core characters.

Executive Producer, Al Gough tells “TV Guide” that “A major character will die”, but that he chose the series’ 100th episode to do the deed, because the timing seemed right and, significantly, that the offing will be done with grace and dignity, in respectful deference to the legend and fans of the Superman myth.

The character that will die will, according to Gough, is someone that we see every week in the series’ opening montage.

“TV Guide” then gives their bets on who they predict is most likely to get the axe.

Their 3 main contenders for the funeral services are Clark’s adoptive parents, both Jonathan and Martha Kent, who have dodged the Reaper countless times, and the character of Chloe, who was not an original character in the Superman comic books and was literally created by “Smallville’s” writers, just for the show.

But, that doesn’t mean that “Smallville’s” writers may not throw a left hook at us and surprise us with the death of someone we don’t expect, which worries us more than a tad.

The 100th episode will also bring about a climatic event in the storied romance between Clark and Lana. There will be a sweeping, grand, romantic gesture to Lana, from Clark.

“TV Guide’s” dazzling photo of the couple at The Fortress Of Solitude, showing Clark on bended knee, gazing up at Lana, holding what appears to be a rock worthy of Tiffany’s or Cartier to say the least, is more than a hint. (So, well YOU do the math!)

Do we hear wedding bells? We certainly hope so, as these two make the world’s (and the galaxies’) most celestial couple.

Then turn to pages 32-33 for an A-Z “Smallville”/Superman trivia primer of superhero information galore, that ALL of you should know and pass. Look for such cool factoids all about, Kryptonite, Chloe’s Wall Of Weird, Remy Zero’s weekly show opening theme song “Save Me” (which we LOVE by the way!), actor, Terrance Stamp, and tons more!

We are going to EXPLODE, waiting for this Thursday with anticipation.

All we ask is PLEASE, Clark, DO propose to Lana, Lana, damn it, ACCEPT!, and to the “Smallville” writers, who ever you kill off, PLEASE don’t let it be Lana!

This is an epic love that MUST survive!

Happy 100th episode “Smallville”!
