VH1.com reports the major goods, or rather the theories to date, surrounding the baddies who will take on the legendary web spinning super hero in the upcoming ‘’Spider-Man 3’’, targeted for a 2007 release date.

Actor James Franco, who played Peter Parker’s (aka Spider-Man’s) former friend, Harry Osborn, who first tried to steal the heart of Peter’s life love gal pal, Mary Jane Watson in the original, first ‘’Spider-Man’’, then went off the deep end after learning Spidey had killed Harry’s dear old dad Norman (aka major bad guy! The Green Goblin), in the film’s second part and sequel, ‘’Spider-Man 2’’, is offering ambiguous insight without spilling the beans on who the villains will be in the 3rd film in the legendary, comic book, hero franchise.

Though actress Kirsten Dunst recently let it slip to MTV News that ‘’I think we have....I’m going to say two and a half bad guys. Because I think one of them is resurrected. But, yeah, two and a half bad guys, I think, about in this movie.’’….

Franco tells VH1.com and admits that, ‘’She probably shouldn’t have said that. She actually got into some trouble for that. I think she got into trouble for revealing that, so I probably shouldn’t repeat that mistake.’’

So what IS confirmed about the villains or anything for that matter in ‘’Spider-Man 3’’? Well, actors already confirmed for the anticipated blockbuster include, why of course, enigmatic, sparkling, talented, gorgeous, blue eyed actor, Tobey Maguire as our favorite iconic, ‘’friendly neighborhood’’ hero, reprising his role for the third time, along with Franco and Dunst, rounding out the ensemble.

Thomas Haden Church and Topher Grace are also on tap. No official word from the folks involved with production on the film as to WHO those two actors are playing, but according to VH1.com, numerous internet sites are speculating and homing in on the theories that the actors are filling the dastardly shoes of Sandman and Venom.

The baddie half that Dunst mentioned, MIGHT be the resurrection of one of the two villains offed in the first two ‘’Spider-Man’’ flicks. The Green Goblin in ‘’Spider-Man’’ and Doc Ock from ‘’Spider-Man 2’’.

But, you never know and don’t forget that in the land of Hollywood, screenwriters can conjure up and create NEW twists, turns, and characters to liven up a franchise and leave us surprised with our jaws dropping! That’s just our opinion weighing in here.

Franco lets on about his own character, Harry Osborn, that, he doesn’t know if this is the end or not for Harry, ‘’But the character definitely goes to interesting places.’’

Franco also recently did some pre-production test filming for the movie, because the masterminds behind ‘’Spider-Man 3’’ are in the process of creating new special effects just for this 3rd chapter, that Franco was said to be involved in, which leads some to believe that Harry will be exhibiting some spine tingling evil superpowers in his role, offering some satisfying meat that fans can really sink their teeth into.

And if this isn’t enough to get your Spidey motor revved, there is already talk of a ‘’Spider-Man 4!’’.

All we can say is, we can’t wait! Spidey, go get those bad guys, get the girl, (and Peter and Mary Jane…PLEASE finally hook up! A hero and girl next door can multi-task and find time for their love while fighting crime!), all while still saving the day!
