“George Lucas Finished Writing NEW “Indiana Jones” Film Sequel Script! Working On “Star Wars” 3-D Edition!”

MTV.com reports that George Lucas has cracked the whip on his own work and time table, having completed the script to the greatly anticipated NEW “Indiana Jones” film sequel!
Lucas is playing his usual mum self, remaining secretive to the details of the plot of the new “Indiana” adventure yarn, which will be the first sequel since 1989’s “Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade”.
However, Lucas DID offer up the juicy tidbit that the film will “probably” begin film production sometime in 2007!
Lucas, who spoke to MTV.com, Monday at a gala dinner held at New York’s Lincoln Center celebrating “Time Magazine’s” “100 Most Influential People”, says that the disappointing box office of “Mission Impossible III” signals to him that audiences are growing tired of too much CGI, explosions, and special effects and are craving more emphasis on well written character development, dialogue, and storyline.
Lucas says, “What they (audiences) want to see is something different. And “Indiana Jones”, if nothing else, is always different. We’re working on it (the film’s shooting schedule and production). We’ve been working on it for 10 years. I think it’ll be a great film, but it’s completely different. It’s still got a lot of action, and it’s still very funny. I think it works like crazy.”
Also currently in the works, Lucas is stepping up production on the “Star Wars” 3-D edition, telling MTV.com when they inquired as to WHEN it will be released…
….“I don’t know! Eventually. We’re working on that technology, seeing if we can get that to work out.”
Lucas also expressed his heightened anticipation of “Star Wars” fans’ reception and opinions of the DVD’s of the Original, Theatrical, unaltered versions of the Original “Star Wars” Trilogy, which were just announced last week for a September 12, 2006 release!
Lucas says, “Now we’ll find out whether they (fans) REALLY wanted the original or whether they wanted the improved (digitally restored) versions. It’ll all come out in the end.”
Of course anyone who reads our column KNOWS from our Friday, May 5, 2006 article that WE are thrilled about the Original “Star Wars” Trilogy coming out on DVD and for US, there was NEVER any need for “improvement” as WE LOVE, the One, the ONLY, ORIGINAL Theatrical versions as the first 3 films were originally made and shown in theaters!
