“”X-Men: The Last Stand” VIEW! NEW FASTBALL SPECIAL Clip, Actor Hugh Jackman Showed On “The Tonight Show”!”

Actor, Hugh Jackman (aka Logan/Wolverine) was the guest, last night, Friday, April 28, 2006 on “The Tonight Show” hosted by Jay Leno on the NBC Television Network, to promote “X-Men: The Last Stand”, which we personally waited all week to watch, and boy were we ever in for a humdinger of a treat!
Hugh showed a NEW, EXCLUSIVE clip from “X-Men: The Last Stand” that delivered big time premiering the infamous, FASTBALL SPECIAL!
The clip, was quite lengthy and was a battle scene with the virtuous “X-Men” pitted against….The Sentinels!

Here is a play by play recount of the clip in case you are unable to watch the clip!
It begins with Logan, on the battlefield, lighting his cigar in the fire of some wreckage. Just as more wreckage is about to land on top of and crush Logan, Storm quick as a flash, flies down, swoops Logan up in her arms, and safely wisks them both away to safer ground.
Logan says something to the affect, of “That was my last cigar!”, which he dropped, in typical dry, Logan manner!
Storm says that the opposing forces they are fighting are too much of a force for the “X-Men”, who are stuck in the wake of the ominous battlefield.
Logan, never one to let any adversity get him down, as if to say, “I don’t think so”, says, “Yeah, I know.” and then asks Colossus, “How’s your throwing arm?” (Of course, we KNEW what was coming next! SET UP for the….)
….FASTBALL SPECIAL!!!!
Colossus tosses Logan with his claws bared, hurling through the air like an all powerful rocket.
A moment later, Logan, flies back to Storm and Colossus, VICTORIOUS, with the HEAD of a decapitated SENTINEL he has just taken out, a cavalier and triumphant look on Logan’s face, as we always expect and ADORE, from the one and only Logan!
Before they showed the clip, Hugh told Jay that “X-Men: The Last Stand” is the BEST of the “X-Men” films!
Jay then kiddingly grilled Hugh, with Jay saying that he just KNOWS there is NO way this is really the LAST “X-Men” film, and Hugh just kept laughing saying, yes it is, but we don’t think Jay was buying it for one minute!
Hugh also told Jay and all of viewing America, that Friday, was Hugh’s father, Chris’s Birthday, and so Hugh, the audience, Jay, and “The Tonight Show” band all sang “Happy Birthday” while Hugh videotaped it all for his dad!
How sweet!
Also, prior to showing the clip, Hugh told Jay about MTV’s “Punk’d” and “X-Men: The Last Stand” Director Brett Ratner punking Hugh!…
….which Hugh also showed a clip from.
….Apparently the “Punk’d” crew were in cahoots with Brett, literally planting special effects explosions and rigged fire at Brett’s multi-million dollar mansion home, telling Hugh that the Aussie style barbecue that Hugh had started to cook Brett dinner, had set Brett’s home on fire!
Hugh fell for it hook, line, and sinker, and we must admit, it looked as real as it gets. Massive flames, kabooms and all!
“Punk’d” airs on MTV, every Monday at 10:00 pm EST. So be sure to check your MTV local listing for this Xciting, “Punk’d” episode!

One of the things we love most about our “X-Men”, is their ability to be deeply emotional characters, who as anyone who follows both the films and the comics that they are based on, know, have an ongoing wealth of romantic relationships, which we “X-Men” fans can’t get enough of!
“X-Men: The Last Stand” further explores how our beloved mutants wear their hearts on their sleeves.
Scifi.com has a nice interview with Director Brett Ratner, discussing the film’s more tender moments.

We’ve already heard the SPOILER rumors of Storm discovering her new found love for Logan/Wolverine!
There is the NEW love triangle of Bobby/Iceman, Rogue, and Kitty Pryde.
Then there is the ongoing romantic triangle of Jean Grey, who loves and is loved by both her boyfriend and fiancé, Scott Summers/Cyclops, and Logan, with both mutant hunks vieing for her enduring affections as well, which fans have adored in the comics and in the first 2 “X-Men” films as well!
Ratner tells scifi.com that “X-Men: The Last Stand” is indeed imbued with a wealth of romantic moments in addition to the multitude of special effects and huge action and set scenes, that will leave fans astonished with awe and enthusiasm saying that....
….“As for a quieter moment? Ratner pointed to a spoiler scene between Wolverine (actor, Hugh Jackman) and a pre Dark Phoenix/Jean Grey (actress, Famke Janssen), “Wolverine is looking at Jean after she’s come back.” Ratner said. “They’re in the infirmary and he’s looking down at her. It’s a great moment, because you see that he loves her. He’s staring at her with love, because he doesn’t know if she’s going to live or die, and all of a sudden she grabs his hand. That’s reminiscent of (a similar scene in) the first movie when he grabbed her after he’d been unconscious, when she was looking at him, in a different way, of course. But that, I thought, was a beautiful moment.””
We wholeheartedly have hopes that Jean and either Logan or Scott, will finally fulfill their true love.
But we have a feeling that Logan’s, Scott’s, and our, hearts, will all be wrenched when Jean transforms from the virtuous lady who stole the aforementioned two mutant heroes’ hearts, into a power driven and corrupted unstoppable force of….evil….siding with Magneto and allowing her super powers to spiral out of control, endangering her fellow “X-Men”, mankind, and the world itself!
YOU will just have to see if there is a happy resolution after all, in “X-Men: The Last Stand”, premiering in theaters, May 26, 2006!

We are SO happy for one of our favorite stars, talented actor, Tobey Maguire, infamous to fans worldwide for his portrayal of the web spinning super hero, “Spider-Man”, on his engagement to girlfriend and lady love, Jennifer Meyer!
Zap2it.com reports that the superstar, blue eyed, dreamy, Maguire, popped the wedded bliss question to his real life Mary Jane Watson, this past weekend with a stunning engagement ring from Tiffany’s!
Maguire and Meyer, who have been a couple for three years, have not yet set a date for their impending nuptials.
Meyer is the daughter of Ron Meyer, who heads up Universal Film Studios, so it looks like Maguire has a super powered fiance to match his super powered star status!
Maguire has become an icon for film, comics, and “Spider-Man” fans globally for portraying the red and blue clad super hero not only in the first “Spider-Man” film, but for also becoming identified as one with the legendary, beloved, blockbuster movie character crime fighter and purveyor of justice, by reprising his role in “Spider-Man 2” and….
….Of course, Maguire is currently back again as “Spidey”, shooting the now in production, “Spider-Man 3”, which is filming on location in Cleveland all of this week!
Maguire also garnered rave reviews and showed off his dramatic acting chops in the critically and commercially acclaimed “Seabiscuit”, portraying Depression era America, real life jockey, Red Pollard, in a hauntingly beautiful performance filled with emotional despair, depth, conviction, brevity, and ultimately, triumph, bonding with the horse of the title name, in this true tale of courage and triumph over incredible adversity.
“Spider-Man 3” is set for release May 7, 2007!

And then I think there’s also wish fulfillment in having powers. I think that also makes the audience like us and want to be entertained by us.”
Donner also assures eager fans that there will, more than likely, be MORE “X-Men” films to come, telling Hollywoodreporter.com that, “I hope there’s a fourth and an eighth and a tenth. I mean, look, there’s 40 years of “X-Men” comics so why not? There’s a huge world (of back issues and the comic book is still ongoing).”
Donner elaborates saying, “They’re so smart (at Marvel). Not only do they have comic book artists and writers, but they’ve now drafted filmmakers. Joss Whedon (who wrote and directed “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”, and is now writing and will direct the feature film, “Wonder Woman” for Warner Brothers and Silver Pictures), wrote an entire series of “X-Men” comics as did Bryan Singer. They’re very smart because they’ve (Marvel) involved a lot of filmmakers in their ongoing comic books.”
Donner also discusses the pressure for this 3rd “X-Men” film to live up to and deliver the same, immense standard of quality of “X-Men” and “X2: X-Men United” and to please fans, the introduction of new characters and the new actors and actresses in those roles, and bringing back the entire original key stars, ensemble cast and their characters.
Donner also discusses the immense work that went into the set/art design and visual effects for the film.

“Star Trek” fans! Time to celebrate!
Scifiwire/scifi.com reports that Variety reports and confirms that an 11th “Star Trek” major motion picture has been green lighted for production, targeted for a 2008 release date!
The new film promises to please and deliver big time to “Star Trek” fans, daring to “Boldly go where no man has gone before!”, featuring a storyline that focuses on the early days of fan favorites, beloved “Star Trek” original characters….
….James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock, and will provide insight into their back story, as we get to see how the two inseparable comrades from the planets Earth and Vulcan respectively, first meet at Starfleet Academy, become colleagues and friends, and their very first mission together in the far reaches of space!
J.J. Abrams, “Lost” Creator and the Director of “Mission Impossible III” will write, produce, and direct the new “Star Trek” film, which does not yet have a title. The film, in keeping with the entire “Star Trek” film and TV franchises, will be a Paramount Motion Pictures production.
“Lost’s” co-creator Damon Lindelof, and producer Bryan Burk will re-team with Abrams to help helm the new “Star Trek” movie.
The announcement of the “Star Trek” prequel film shows that the “Star Trek” brand is still a powerful force, despite last year’s cancellation of one of OUR favorite TV shows, “Star Trek: Enterprise”, due to low ratings, which aired on the UPN Television Network and boasted stellar writing, storylines, and a talented ensemble cast of beloved characters, starring actor, Scott Bakula as Captain Jonathan Archer, and OUR favorites, Commander Charles “Tripp” Tucker (actor, Connor Trinneer) and Sub Commander T’Pol (actress, Jolene Blalock).
Just remember that the original “Star Trek” TV series, which was broadcast on the NBC Television Network, was ALSO cancelled due to poor ratings, and look at the firmly rooted seeds that that very first series planted, to emotionally resonate so strongly with fans worldwide, for some 3 decades now, resulting in the mammoth, multi-billion dollar “Star Trek” franchise that includes an endless list of blockbuster major motion pictures and successful television series spin-offs!

Better yet, we be a hearin’ that a NEW mysterious, supernatural character will be introduced in “Pirates Of The Caribbean: 2” to help fight and take out those nasty ghostly pirates who be a scarin’ the daylights out of our heroes, Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann, and Captain Jack Sparrow!
The May 2006 issue of “Premiere Magazine” features the wonderful article, “The Ultimate Summer Movie Preview” which out of the many upcoming blockbuster films to be released this summer that made the list, TOPPING the NUMBER ONE spot, as the film with the greatest expectations, is of course, the greatly anticipated fan favorite, “Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest”!

““My heart is kept in Davy Jones’s locker way down beneath the waves”, says Nighy, “who sports a claw arm, crab leg, and octopus beard for the part.”
“To combat this supernatural foe, the adventurers, (Will and Elizabeth), seek the advice of a Gypsy Queen, (portrayed by) the film, “28 Days Later’s” actress, Naomie Harris, who can bring people back to life and see the future.”
Harris tells “Premiere Magazine” that, “I have dreadlocks and red eyes and rotten teeth and a huge corset and tribal markings on my face. (Director) Gore Verbinski was thinking originally that I would hold a monkey, but the people who looked after the monkey were a bit concerned that my outfit would freak it out too much!”

“Premiere Magazine” says that (actor, Orlando) “Bloom and (actress, Keira) Knightley return as Will and Elizabeth, whose wedding plans run aground when they again become tangled up with Depp’s, Jack Sparrow, who owes a blood debt to Scottish sea captain Davy Jones (actor, Bill Nighy).”
““My heart is kept in Davy Jones’s locker way down beneath the waves”, says Nighy, “who sports a claw arm, crab leg, and octopus beard for the part.”
“To combat this supernatural foe, the adventurers, (Will and Elizabeth), seek the advice of a Gypsy Queen, (portrayed by) the film, “28 Days Later’s” actress, Naomie Harris, who can bring people back to life and see the future.”
Harris tells “Premiere Magazine” that, “I have dreadlocks and red eyes and rotten teeth and a huge corset and tribal markings on my face. (Director) Gore Verbinski was thinking originally that I would hold a monkey, but the people who looked after the monkey were a bit concerned that my outfit would freak it out too much!”

“X-Men: The Last Stand” is the COVER STORY of the April/May 2006 issue of “Moving Pictures Magazine”!
Inside are, OF COURSE, Xcellent color photos, but also, an outstanding one on one interview with Marvel Studios President/CEO Avi Arad!
“X-Men: The Last Stand” focuses on a dreaded “cure” manufactured by humans to rid mutants of their natural born, physical and psychological traits, attributes, powers, making mutants “acceptable” to fit in with the “norm” of society.
This interview with Arad discusses this hot button topic, quite intelligently, and the “X-Men” film franchises’ most controversial film to date.
As Arad says to “Moving Pictures”, mankind’s endless prejudice and intolerance, and mankind’s need for tolerance, understanding, and peaceful co-existence with all living beings are what “X-Men: The Last Stand” and its central “cure” storyline, are all about.
Arad goes on to say, “What is a mutant? What does it mean to be different?”
Should the mutant take the “cure” and give up their unique, inherent traits to avoid mankind’s persecution? Or should mutants maintain their natural traits and be proud of who they are and struggle to teach mankind tolerance?
Arad likens this to, does an African American person take a pill to change the color of their skin to “fit in” with society and avoid prejudice?
Of course not. Arad says that, “You are who you are.”
Arad says “The way to fight discrimination is not to change your skin, but to find a way to co-exist and co-existence always came out of struggle. Throughout history, you had 2 kinds of leaders fighting this struggle. Those who became militant and those who believed in long term tolerance.”
Arad explains that ““X-Men: The Last Stand” goes into the issue of “right to life”.”
Arad exuberantly says, “That’s what we so love about “X-Men”. It's infused with real issues and uses these great metaphors.”
Arad then says, “We have this great campaign. “Take A Stand.” THAT’S what this movie's about.”
The interview gets VERY heavy at times discussing real life prejudice and intolerance, via race, religion, what have you, via Hitler’s Germany, the Spanish Inquisition, all through history.

The April 17-26, 2006 issue of “TV Guide Magazine” reports and confirms that Storm will be marrying none other than Marvel Comic Book, Super Hero, Black Panther in the comic book, “Black Panther” issue Number 18, available in stores, July 2006!!!!
FLY like Storm over to Page 86 for a STUNNING COLOR PHOTO from this VERY special nuptials event, showing our lovely Ororo, her long blond hair flowing regally, dressed in the sweeping grandeur of a DESIGNER, gold wedding gown, resplendent with a bustier bodice, elegant train, ornamental tiara hair piece, and an elaborate floral arrangement bouquet, as she stands at the alter, arm in arm, with her LOVE, the black clad in suit and cape, dashing Black Panther!

“X-Men” fans!
MSN.com got the inside scoop, getting ALL ACCESS to and on the PRODUCTION SET of “X-Men: The Last Stand”! MSN.com filmed some of the behind the scenes, early film production which is part of the finale of the movie. This exclusive footage was shot by MSN.com in December 2005 in Vancouver, where the cast and crew of “X-Men: The Last Stand” was doing their on location filming at 1:00 am in 5 degree, bitter cold weather!

This footage was shot on the replication of the Golden Gate Bridge and its destruction for part of the final climax of the film.
Watch as actress, Famke Janssen, stands in front of a wind machine, as extras acting as Magneto’s Brotherhood Of Mutants make a battle charge, while both Famke and the extras take directing cues which can be heard given by the production crew off camera.
Then TONS of flames and explosions occur!!
We particularly loved the interview with actor, Hugh Jackman who plays Logan/Wolverine, who is so genuinely overjoyed to be involved with the entire “X-Men” film trilogy and of course “X-Men: The Last Stand”, and his character!
Hugh goes on to say that this 3rd chapter in the “X-Men” films is “amazing and the biggest ever” and that “I love this part. I love this series!”
Hugh also talks about the new actors and characters brought on board for the 3rd “X-Men” film installment, including actor, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, actor, Ben Foster as Angel, and actress, Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde.
Hugh goes on to say about all of the returning “X-Men” characters from “X-Men” and “X2: X-Men United”, that, “Everyone is back, but not everyone is the same.”
There are also GREAT interviews with actress, Famke Janssen who discusses her Dark Phoenix character, Producer, Ralph Winter, and Director, Brett Ratner who says that he wants to “Stay true to the tone” of the “X-Men” films, and that in this 3rd film, he is intent to assure that the film will “Add more heart. Add more closure.”

You might recall the 13 year old Canadian born, Bright, for having a nasty habit of playing bad seed, evil spawn children, which he’s most notable for, for his creepy crawly role in the film, “Birth”!
“Entertainment Weekly” says that Bright’s spot on role in “Birth” has Hollywood casting directors flocking to cast him in more insidious roles, including a slew of films all released this year, which have led to his portrayal of Leech in “X-Men: The Last Stand”!
Bright tells “Entertainment Weekly” that he can’t give too much away, “It’s really secretive, but I CAN say that I play a character named Leech. Both the good and bad guys are fighting over him.”
From what we’ve seen in the movie trailers, Leech is, as Mystique tells Magneto, the mutant who is the actual SOURCE for the feared, dreaded “cure” manufactured by intolerant humans to eradicate mutants of their natural born physical and psychological characteristics, attributes, and powers.
Leech!! What a name, which we think says it all! Demon child!

Lex Luthor and Lana Lang finally lock lips passionately in tomorrow’s Thursday, April 13, 2006 episode of “Smallville”!
The April 10-16, 2006 issue of “TV Guide Magazine” reports (with JUICY photos as PROOF!), that sexy Lexy (actor, Michael Rosenbaum) and luscious Lana (actress, Kristin Kreuk), at last, give in to their feelings for one another.
Check out the PHOTO on page 6 of “Smallville’s” uber rich villain and Clark Kent’s unrequited love, good girl next door, canoodling BIG TIME!
Then hop on over to “Behind The Scenes” on page 22, where you see the hot and heavy couple (and actors) getting directorial guidance from….

Tom tells “TV Guide” that, “Going into it (directing for the very first time, showing his chops on this week’s episode), I was apprehensive about what I didn’t know, but I new I had a good team around me. Everyone was really fantastic and supportive.”

The April 10-16, 2006 issue of “TV Guide Magazine” reports (with JUICY photos as PROOF!), that sexy Lexy (actor, Michael Rosenbaum) and luscious Lana (actress, Kristin Kreuk), at last, give in to their feelings for one another.

As we reported earlier, “Spider-Man 3” will be filming some exterior shots in Cleveland, Ohio, and YES, the “Spider-Man 3” cast and crew WILL be web swinging around town.
Superherohype.com and the Cleveland Plain Dealer report that….
….“Spider-Man 3” will be holding an OPEN CAST CALL, SUNDAY, April 9, 2006 from 2:00pm to 6:00 pm in the English Oak Room at Tower City Center!
200 extras will be cast for the film’s Cleveland, on location shooting from Friday, April 21, 2006 to Saturday, April 29, 2006.
Requirements for those wishing to audition are:
You must be 18 years old or over.
Bring a NON digital photograph of yourself.
Bring a pen to complete all application forms.
Leave all children at home.

Church’s discussion with about.com focuses on how very talented and wonderful a Director, Sam Raimi is, (We AGREE!) and Church details at length, much of the current behind the scenes directorial style by Raimi on the film production of “Spider-Man 3”.
Highlights that greatly intrigued us and caught our attention:
Church raves and lauds Raimi to about.com saying, “You know Sam, despite all the airs and graces of this being a hugely successful (film) franchise and action movie and superhero movie, Sam is ultimately, a brilliant actor’s Director….He’s very specific when it comes to performances and he pushes really hard, but it’s very rewarding.”
Church, who tells about.com that he began shooting his scenes in November 2005, says to about.com that “I shot a scene in January that was very emotional for my character....We shot all the coverage all day long. We continued building and building, and then we came back from lunch and we kept building and building. There was a lot of coverage, there was a lot of lighting changes, because there’s a whole kind of thing where a window blows out and a storm blows in and there’s all these effects that had to be captured on camera.”
Church goes on to say that at first, he didn’t quite understand Director Raimi’s methods and what Raimi meant to accomplish with those methods.
Church tells about.com that he vented his frustration and anger, saying “I kind of snapped at a couple of people and I apologized. I felt myself becoming more emotionally aggressive. He (Raimi), then set two cameras on me and we went for a rehearsal. I slammed the stunt guy; I grabbed him and I slammed him really hard into the wall. Sam came over and goes, “You’re ready for your close-up.” He knew exactly what he was doing. That just gave me goose bumps. He knew exactly what he was doing EVERY step of the way all day long. I had like one rehearsal and he’s like, “You’re ready. We can get your close-up first.”, because he knew I was right there and that’s EXACTLY HOW, I had to be in the scene, which was, you know, super aggressive, almost homicidally aggressive.”
Church, in essence, states to about.com that Raimi instinctively knows and taps into the natural moods of his actors, to induce and pull from those very moods, the most spontaneous, intense, electrifying performance from his actors, “waiting and waiting until he saw me get to where I needed to be. And, hey, unbeknownst to me it took me all day to get there, but once I was there, he captured it like that.”
What was that Thomas said about getting goose bumps? We concur with that!
It looks like there will be a heck of a lot MORE goose bumps, chills, and thrills for YOU and US, on this exciting roller coaster ride until “Spider-Man 3” is released!
And we only have to wait until the film’s May 4, 2007 premiere, to experience what we are certain will be, the sure-fireworks of “Spider-Man 3”!!!! Enjoy the ride!

“X-Men: The Last Stand” is finally bombarding various TV Networks with a one/two media hype punch, hitting the national TV airwaves with at least 3 different TV spots, movie trailer commercials!

Last night, Wednesday, April 5, 2006, WE saw one heck of a mind blowing, TV commercial, movie trailer, for “X-Men: The Last Stand” on the SPIKE Cable Television Network, that we feel fairly certain, was intentionally and VERY appropriately planned, when it aired right after the first scene….
….in which actress, Halle Berry (aka “X-Men’s ” Storm!), makes her entrance as NSA agent Jinx, in the SPIKE Network’s broadcast of the James Bond film, “Die Another Day”!
The commercial aired at approximately 9:55 pm EST on the SPIKE TV Network!
Superherohype.com, is reporting that the 3 different movie trailers began running on both the FOX and ESPN TV Networks, (2 of which ran Tuesday, April 4, 2006 during “American Idol” and “House”).
The NEW TV commercial, movie trailer that WE saw on the SPIKE TV Network Wednesday, 4/5/2006 during the airing of “Die Another Day”, was a blend of footage we have seen in the 2 Original Movie Trailers that have been making the rounds on the Internet for some time, plus some NEW footage.
We got to see:
A new shot of Angel flying.
X Jet flying.
Jean and Scott kissing.
Brief shot of Cyclops at Alkali Lake.
Extended footage of Storm spinning all around Jean’s house.
Juggernaut partially trapped in the floor, then Kitty Pryde pops up from the ground and smiles.
Plus the main footage that’s already been running of Jean pleading with Logan to help her, Storm saying to Jean, “Then BE with us”, the “X-Men” standing side by side together preparing to fight, the close up of Dark Phoenix with her hair blowing in the wind, Magneto and his Brotherhood of Mutants, the destruction of the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge, The White House that opens the original movie trailers, and Professor Xavier.

Expect the cast and crew of “X-Men: The Last Stand” to make a VERY high profile, and most likely, GRAND, red carpet mix of designer couture and perhaps, Full Costume, appearance at Cannes, which is THE crème de le crème of all film festivals, bringing movie stars, movie studio CEO big shots, and the international press together in a schmooze fest without parallel!

“X-Men” fans! Let’s have some FUN!
Here is OUR list of the “X-Men” film trilogy’s actors, actresses, and film making crew, who have also worked together on OTHER film projects, often co-starring one on one outside of the “X-Men” film universe!
Hugh Jackman (Logan/Wolverine) and Halle Berry (Storm) acted together in the crazy, sexy, cool, spy thriller, “Swordfish”, also starring a rather excellent, menacing John Travolta in 2001! (We LOVE this film by the way!)
Hugh, as usual, stole the movie, in his emotionally driven, wonderful performance, playing Stanley Jobson, a poorer than a church mouse, computer hacker with a heart of gold, desperately trying to get custody of his beloved daughter back from his witch of an ex-wife, only to find himself extorted against his will, into working for Travolta’s character, international, super villain Gabriel Shear.
Halle played Ginger, a Sexalicious double agent working for and playing both sides for the DEA/CIA and Travolta’s evil Gabriel.
Let’s just say some sparks DID fly a bit between Hugh and Halle, especially when she pulled a gun on him dressed in lingerie that would make Victoria’s Secret, (and we’re sure HUGH), proud!
Hugh, turned up the charm, and turned out of course to be the ONE person in “Swordfish” who we KNOW was working for the GOOD guys, of course saving the day as a HERO! Halle, well, let’s say she had….ulterior agendas!
Famke Janssen (Dr. Jean Grey) and Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler) co-starred as 2 Super nasty villains in 1995’s James Bond entry, “Goldeneye”!
Famke played the deliciously, evil, sex siren, uber vixen, villainous, Xenia Onatopp, who killed her foes by crushing the life out of them with her….thighs!
We just LOVE her gleeful, malevolent, laugh as she takes wicked pleasure in squishing men until they pop in “Goldeneye”!
Alan played over the top, campy, baddie, Russian, computer expert, Boris Grishenko.
We personally think Famke’s….more than OVER the top performance as Xenia, (See, Xenia begins with an X…so “X-Men” was already in her Hollywood destiny stars!), Onatopp would prove a worthy evil match for her upcoming turn as Dark Phoenix in “X-Men: The Last Stand”!
Sir Ian McKellen (Magneto/Eric Lansherr) and Bruce Davison (Senator Kelly) acted together in the film, GET THIS!, actually called, “Six Degrees Of Separation” in 1993!
Ian played Geoffrey and Bruce played Larkin!
James Marsden (Scott Summers/Cyclops) and Director Bryan Singer are CURRENTLY, now, working together again on this summer 2006’s blockbuster, “Superman Returns”!
James will be portraying the character of Richard White, taking cues from Bryan’s always magnificent, directorial guidance!
And this is just OUR list!

“Entertainment Weekly Magazine’s” April 7, 2006 issue has an outstanding article, “Holding Out For A Hero”, detailing Hollywood’s (and OUR!), sentimental and lucrative cash register ringing love for blockbuster heroes’ and heroines’ tales, from comics, novels, and such, being told on the silver screen!
The article on pages 26-29 chronicles such beloved heroes and heroines that have captured our hearts (and wallets!), via their proven film adaptations, (that often result in greatly anticipated sequels and franchises!), with GREAT color photos of the “X-Men’s” Wolverine and Storm, “Spider-Man”, “Batman”, “Harry Potter”, “The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe’s” Susan, “The Lord Of The Rings’” Aragorn, and more.
Of course the article discusses these and other heroes, whose films have become such fan favorites and proven cash cows, including, “Pirates Of The Caribbean”, “Superman”, “Blade”, and more.
But….the point of the article, is what UNTAPPED heroes from comics and novels have NOT yet made it to the silver screen, BUT are just NOW, FINALLY….seeing their day, being adapted as major motion pictures!!!!
Joss Whedon’s greatly anticipated “Wonder Woman” is obviously mentioned.
Here is “Entertainment Weekly’s” lowdown on the SIX TOP COMICS HEROES….NOW IN FILM DEVELOPMENT!!!!
“Wolverine”!!!!
This “X-Men” spin-off is OUR personal favorite, and we think will PROVE to be THE, HOTTEST Contender at the box office! Wolverine’s, namesake, the always brilliant, luminous, actor, Hugh Jackman not only is confirmed for the title role, (which he was born to play, making it his very own and which he has made transcendent!)….he has HERALDED his DELIGHT repeatedly to the press, (especially at March 2006’s ShoWest Film Convention), about his enthusiastic joy in having the opportunity to reprise his “X-Men” Film Trilogy role, in his own starring film!
“Wolverine” is due to begin filming in 2007, with a script that is near completion by David Benioff, that Jackman has been raving about!
To say we are looking forward to “Wolverine” is an understatement. We’re certain Jackman will, as always, be superb, bringing even more sublime definition and emotional depth to Logan (aka Wolverine)!
“The Flash”
We hear that Warner Brothers Motion Pictures is schmoozing big time, screenwriter, David Goyer (who penned the “Blade” Film Trilogy!), hoping to corral Goyer to also pen the screenplay for “The Flash”. Warner Bros. is also sidling up to “Blade Trinity” hunk, actor, Ryan Reynolds to step into the title heroic role!
“Ghost Rider”
Reportedly, actor, Nicholas Cage is already cast as the mysterious biker turned hero imbued with supernatural abilities. “Daredevil”, (Which we ADORE!), Director, Mark Steven Johnson, (who we think did a stellar job!), is on board to helm this heroic tale, which is being tapped for a potential 2/16/2007 release date!
“Nick Fury”
Marvel Comics’ Legend, writer, Stan Lee’s “James Bond like secret agent” is already in the film adaptation works. Paramount Motion Pictures, who has a deal for 10 motion pictures with Marvel, is behind “Nick Fury” and is shooting for a possible, 2008 release date!
“Captain America”
This is Marvel Comics’ most popular hero, still waiting to see movie realization. Hero, ultimate patriot, Steve Rogers, who hails from America’s World War II era, was the original “Rambo”. Abandoned by the army, he became a super soldier, out to defeat villainy and seek justice as HE saw fit!
“Luke Cage”
We hear that this comics hero is a personal labor of love for the always visionary, Auteur/Director, John Singleton who is using his charms on the film making powers that be to get this made!
John Singleton positively ROCKED this past year with his explosive, sleeper film, “Four Brothers”, the remarkable story of 4 HEROES….the little engine that could fable, about 4 adopted brothers who avenged their adoptive mother’s murder. Singleton has already set his sights on “Four Brothers’” star, actor, Tyrese Gibson, as the hoped for “Luke Cage”!
And there YOU have it!
So look for these SIX comic book, heroic titans to hopefully all become 20 feet tall or more, as they make their way to a BIG, movie screen near you, in the coming year or so!
