The Marvel “Civil War” comic book series, following very much in the same vein of the enormously adored and acclaimed 40 year old “X-Men” comic book series, which tackles social commentary subjects of prejudice, intolerance, persecution, civil rights, and the humans within the U.S. government attempting to pass a Mutant Registration Act, discriminating, alienating, and further persecuting all mutants….

….the “Civil War” comic book series, upon a climatic battle between superheroes and supervillains in which hundreds of civilians are innocently caught in the crossfire and killed, likewise sees the government pass a fire storm raising, discriminatory, Super Hero Registration Act, which mandates that all superheroes reveal their true identity and register with the government.

Just as the “X-Men” saga is bitterly split into 2, rigid, opposing factions of mutants, being the Martin Luther King like Professor Charles Xavier and his superhero “X-Men” who preaches tolerance and a mutual, peaceful co-existence between mutants and humans, and the Malcolm X like Magneto, (Xavier’s former friend and now nemesis), and his supervillain minions, who staunchly feel that humans must be fought, even killed, no matter the costs, to protect mutants…..

….The Marvel “Civil War” series is split into 2 bitter, opposing camps.

….“Spider-Man” champions the new law and is joined by many agreeing superhero allies, while “Captain America” rails and fights against it, joined by many angered, disagreeing superheroes, causing an all out, inflammatory civil war pitting former Super Hero friends against one another in combat and bloodshed on the battlefield.

““It’s about which side you are on and why you think you are right”, says Marvel Comics, Editor In Chief Joe Quesada.”
