Scifi.com is reporting a RUMOR, we REPEAT, an unconfirmed rumor, that is originally being reported by “The Insider”, the TV gossip show, that actor, Matt Damon….
….is being seriously considered to portray “Star Trek’s” young Captain James T. Kirk, in the 11th NEW “Star Trek” movie that is being directed and helmed by “Lost” co-creator and “Mission Impossible III” Director, J.J. Abrams, by Abrams!!!!

Supposedly, an “anonymous” source is stating that Abrams is so taken with having Matt Damon fill the iconic shoes of the Captain of the Starship Enterprise, that Abrams, “sought support from the ORIGINAL (Captain) Kirk, (actor),William Shatner, “Shatner gave his blessing. J.J. got his approval”.”
All WE can say is…hmmm. WE have to seriously think about this.
Damon is a talented, handsome star who certainly has proved his mettle in serious dramas, biting satires, and as an all out action hero in “The Bourne Identity” super spy caper blockbuster films.
Currently, Abrams and 11th “Star Trek” film Producer Bryan Burk (Abrams’ partner from “Lost”), are playing mum about the film’s plot, but fans, press, and well, EVERYBODY, are speculating faster than Warp Factor 10!!!!….
….that the film will be a “Star Trek” PREQUEL to the original, legendary TV series, focusing on the early years of the young Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock, meeting for the first time while training as green, young buck, space pilots at the Starfleet Academy….
….Following Captain Kirk and Spock as they chart their inaugural, very first mission and adventures on the Enterprise, into the far reaches of space!!!!
