The BIG News at the Baltimore, Maryland COMIC-CON Convention this past weekend, is that Marvel Comics has announced that with original "X-Men Runaways" writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Adrian Alphona deciding to leave the hit, beloved, fan favorite, "X-Men" spin-off, comic book series, WHO could possibly step in and fill Vaughan's & Alphona's revered shoes, taking on such a well loved comic series without changing its core creative and story telling foundation?

....JOSS WHEDON that's who!!!!....

Marvel.com, Marvel's OFFICIAL WEBSITE, reports proudly that at this past weekend's Baltimore, Maryland, COMIC-CON Summit, the official announcement was made that JOSS WHEDON, renowned for penning "Astonshing X-Men", as well as his creating, writing, and directing TV's hit series "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" was anointed the NEW writer, taking over the helm for "X-Men Runaways" along with NEW regular artist, Michael Ryan!!!!

....Marvel also reports that Joss Whedon, is himself, a HUGE FAN of the "X-Men Runaways" series and even wrote fan mail to Marvel, which Marvel collected in the "X-Men Runaways" Volume 1 HC, where he "implored Marvel to continue the series when he learned that the series was going to end at issue Number 18."

...."Runaways" soon returned with a second volume and the title has continued to be a favorite of fans and critics to this day."

...."Joss's first issue will be "Runaways" Number 25, when he is joined by new regular artist Michael Ryan ("New Excalibur"). Whedon and Ryan plan on taking these left coast heroes and expanding upon the solid foundations already laid down by Vaughan, Alphona, Miyazawa, and Norton!!!!"

WE are ecstatic about this revelatory (and celebratory!) news as we are a huge fan of Joss Whedon, ALL of his work, and especially his tenure at penning "Astonishing X-Men", particularly, his own concept of the dreaded "cure" vaccine that was implemented into the script and storyline of this year's FAB, 3rd installment in the "X-Men" film franchise, "X-Men: The Last Stand"!!!!
